Don’t Put Off Your Happiness

Leave it to the brilliant Things We Forget blog to elegantly summarize in five words what I explored in hundreds yesterday. All that hand-wringing about how we look, how we eat, how much we can lift, how fast we can run… the whole point of everything is to find the joy, no?

  1. Truer words were never spoken. Concise and to the point. Thanks.

Well stated! It seems that happiness can be elusive for some (most?) of us. I often hear “I will be happy when ….” That something comes and happiness doesn’t. Recently i asked an acquaintance how she felt about her “new body”. She had lost several pounds and I was curious how she felt. Her answer – not as happy as I thought I’d be.

Very true. I think I should get a post it note that says don’t sabotage your happiness.

Is it human nature to not be happy? For if we are truly happy what else could we be striving for? Perfect harmony is a balance, and I have yet to find that ever-elusive state of mind.
